About Captain Jako Hall

Jako Hall is a former naval officer turned recreational superyacht captain and explorer. His extensive career in the Navy with service in the Combat Branch on various warships, including auxiliary, fast missile gunships, and state-of-the-art frigates, has enabled him to inspire and lead crews in isolated, rugged regions.

With a knack for dealing with complex administrative systems and managing multi-million euro projects with restrictive time and financial constraints, Jako joined the Superyacht Industry in 2007 and quickly rose through the ranks. His habit of paying attention to small details to identify areas for improvement allows him to provide yacht owners, guests, and crew members with the best experience possible.

Jako graduated with a degree in Maritime Studies from the University of Technology in Cape Town in 2007. He also received a certificate in project management from the University of Stellenbosch and a Master of Superyachts (<3000T) through the Marine and Coastguard Agency (MCA) in 2013.

In addition to sailing the globe, Jako also enjoys land adventures — he’s climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and completed two marathons and a half-Ironman. Jako enjoys spending time with his wife and son, hiking, travelling, and fitness training when he’s not working.
